RE-OPENING JULY 14TH!
We will be re-opening our restaurant on Tuesday the 14th of July.
We can’t wait to have you all back at our restaurant and have made some exciting changes such as a new and improved patio and more importantly, our brand new chef … Aron Epp.
Aron already has many strings to his culinary bow.
He opened (and built!) the kitchen at Peg Beer Co. quickly establishing the venue as a firm favourite with the locals. He then went on to man the helm at the Tallest Poppy, bringing his positive and productive flair to the already legendary restaurant
.
Aron has spent the last year working independently doing his own pop-up and private events and working alongside Winnipeg’s top culinary talent including
playing a key role in Chef Ben Kramer’s Push Project. He is now the Head Chef at the Amsterdam Tea Room & Bar and we couldn’t be happier!

Born and raised in a small town in Saskatchewan, Aron developed his adventurous palate while living
overseas in Cyprus and Jordan as a child. With many farmers in his extended family, and a large garden in the back yard, he also learned from an early age where food comes from: understanding how it is raised, grown and prepared and the importance of local produce

LATEST ANNOUNCEMENT:
Our heartfelt thanks go out to our wonderful customers who have shown us such fantastic support over the last few days: by popping by for takeaway meals, purchasing gift vouchers and generally passing out positive vibes. This support has really kept us going in what has been an incredibly stressful, long and turbulent week for everyone within our team.
Over the course of the past few weeks we have been closely monitoring the advice of the World Health Organisation, The Canadian Health Service and the recent daily briefings from the Canadian government relating to Coronavirus.
Even though the Canadian and local government is not enforcing all bars, restaurants, and pubs to close, we believe it is our responsibility to take action. At the same time, with all the extra financial help and support packages announced by the Canadian Government – we are incredibly relieved to know that our talented and dedicated workforce at Amsterdam Tea Room and Bar will be looked after in these tough times.
With ever-increasing warnings on the spread of the virus, we have decided therefore to cease our takeaway and delivery service from today. We feel that this is the safest measure for our staff, who will no longer have to commute back and forth and are able to weather out the coming period in the comfort and safety of their homes.
None of our food stock will go to waste. We will be donating today to Chef Ben Kramer and his Food Rescue initiative for the people in our community who need it most.
We look forward to welcoming you back to our restaurant whenever it is deemed safe to reopen and trade again.
In the meantime, above all, look after yourselves, your families and your friends.
